A savoury French toast sandwich with ham and mild cheese dipped in a seasoned egg mixture with turmeric, garlic powder, and onion powder, then pan-fried until crisp and golden. Good fresh and also suitable for freezing and reheating.

Put the eggs into a shallow bowl wide enough for the bread. Add the milk, salt, sugar, turmeric, garlic powder, and onion powder; mix thoroughly and leave 5 minutes so the powders dissolve.
Sandwich the bread with ham and cheese. Dip each sandwich in the egg mix, then let it sit briefly on a plate.
Heat a thin layer of vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Dip each sandwich again, fry about 3 minutes on one side until golden while the cheese starts to melt; flip and cook about 3 minutes more, pressing lightly.
Drain briefly, cut in half, and serve hot with ketchup if you like. Leftovers can be wrapped in foil and frozen.
